Projects on wireless communication are done by technicians or students. Electromagnetic waves are used in wireless communication for data transmission. For transmission of data dual tone multiple frequency technology is used in wireless communication. Radio waves help in data transmission and reception.

Radio waves:

Radio waves fall in magnetic field and electric field; they are perpendicular to each other. In terms of frequency radio wavelength are measured.

Class of Radio Waves:

Major classes of radio waves are:

  • Ultra high frequency.
  • Very high frequency.
  • High frequency.

To achieve an efficient communication many applications make use of the frequencies. In television, radio broadcasting very high frequencies is used. For wireless communication ultra high frequency is used.

High Frequency:

Military areas use frequency radio waves. In military they utilize inter continental communication so they get the benefit of high frequency band. It is used in NVIS to overcome line of sight problem. High frequency provides ionosphere (i.e.) long range communication.

Modest transmitter and antenna receiver are contained in high frequency. Natural disaster location can be easily found by high frequency signal.

The numbers of frequencies used by each group of users are assigned by high frequency. The range is from 2 to 30 MHz

Very High Frequency:

The waves range from 30 to 300 MHz it is also called as frequency modulated band. It covers short distance terrestrial communication. It is affected by electrical equipment interferences and atmospheric noise.

Ultra High Frequency:

Ultra high frequency waves range from 300 MHz to 3000 MHZ it is referred as microwave frequencies. Ultra high frequencies are used by GPS, mobile networks, television broadcasting, wireless communication and satellite communication.

VHF and UHF are used by narrow band radio modem for long range data communication.

UHF and VHF Antennas:

To capture electromagnetic waves fro radio waves, antenna is used. Most of the antennas capture the elements. The main properties of antenna are to compute the number and length of elements, all the function of wavelength and thickness of elements.

VHF and UHF Differences:

ParameterVHFUHF
SizeAntenna size is large. When compared to UHF the size is small.
FrequencySignal have a lower frequency but have a long wavelength.Short wavelength and longer antenna is required to receive signal.

SignalMultiple station signals can be received than UHF antennas.Do not receive multiple station frequency.

Future Regards for Wireless Communication:

In most fields smart antenna is used which is an innovative technique. The cost of wireless establishment is minimized and it leaves a significant impact. Projects on wireless communication are carried out fruitfully for all academic students. Many research scholars also do wireless communication research work. We support software and hardware projects on wireless communication.
